What is segregation?Segregation is separating people of different races or classes, and can occur within schools, neighborhoods, or other public places. This is a form of discrimination.
Segregation by race is pretty obvious to us, but segregation by class may not be. Class refers to the economic status (income or salary) that a person earns. A person can be lower class, working class, middle class, or upper class depending on their income. Throughout a person's lifetime they can move up or down in class depending on how their life situations change.
A study published in June of last year shows that public schools in the United States are becoming more racially segregated and the trend is likely to accelerate (get worse).
The rise in segregation threatens the quality of education received by non-white students, who now make up 43 percent of the total U.S. student body.
Many segregated schools struggle to attract highly qualified teachers and administrators, do not prepare students well for college, and fail to graduate more than half their students.The United States risks becoming a nation in which a new majority of non-white young people will attend "separate and inferior" schools.
Latinos are the fastest growing minority in U.S. schools. Researches noted that "often Latino students face triple segregation by race, class and language."

I think that segregation is a big problem in school there is never a day that goes by that I see and hear people talk or do something bad to a lower class then they are. I think that this is becoming a problem because they are not as good as the other person. People judge you by the way you look and act. It is the truth this has always been happening and I do not think that this is never going to change.
I think that people should stop think that they are better then every one and try to help people in need this way all of the segregation can stop and we can al be one big happy country.

I think that segregation is not good because it just makes the people more mean because they are going to think that they are better people than they are and they should change the way they are because one day they are going to be laught at one day. I think it should stop.
segregation is increasing each day more in our schools. Even in this school there are racist teachers and students too.I CAN'T satnd discrimination. Many people judge you for the way you dres,skin color, and sometimes religion.Everybody is free to do anyhing and no one has the right to judge you. I remember that when I was in middle school me and my friends got kicked out of class just because the teacher didn't liked immigrant people.It feels really bad and sad because that time I felt less than others. I think we should respect everybody no matter what race they are so we can be respected as well. that's a way we can get done with segregation
I feel that segregation is a big problem. I didn't think it was that bad I feel bad about what I read that kid's are put in schools that are for lower or higher class I think that everybody from different race should be allowed at school. I think that lower class shouldn't be seprated from the middle class or the upper class. everybody should be treated equally. So I hope that people help out with this problem and it won't be such a big problem.
I think that racism is increasing in the schools even in this one. many people judge you because you're not same as them but its impossible that everybody look alike. In order to get done with segregation we should accept everybody how they are and so we can be respected too
I've been in part of segregation school before. It was like in my 7th grade year when I went to Reynolds middle school. There was always kids seperated in groups. There were the blacks, Russians, whites, and of course the Hispanics! You would always see kids walking in groups towards the hallways. Also in the Lunch room there would be all seperated from different skin color! Well fortunaley I was in the group that was more dominant!!! The way to make segregation to stop is not on the people running the school but on kids going to the school. Why??? because when a kid talks to a another kid not the same color of skin it is very rare Segregation occasions!!! Also when teachers at classes have kids just talk and do things together that shows them there is nothing agaisnt them and its ok to talk to other different color people~!! Also outside of class they could start talking to each other and it would be a start of getting rid of segrgation!

I think segregation is the biggest problem in all schools i the United States. In our school we have groups that are divided by race, its very strange but its true. People with different color of skin. I think its not very good for them because they are not able to learn English and comunicate with other races.People should be friends with other races too, because its very he;pfull and you can learn other cultures, its very interesting.

i think that segregation is a problem in shools because many people have their own groups from different contries. for example in eiche table ther deffrent grupes of people like the mexicans and the puerto ricans.

I feel that there are many kinds of segregation everywhere in the world and maybe theres is more in the U.S. because the U.S is the place where people from everywhere come. there is also lots of segregation in schools in between students from either different ethnic background or from what they like like if some like school the hang together and the ones that don't and like partying and being in gans and stuff like that hang together so they all end up being separated. i think that that shouldn't happen because of the way you dress or stupid things like that. i think is sad how people so many people get in to segregation so many people just get divided. so my teens get to go though segregation becsue since there in elemantiry school they start with dividing grops and they keep on making groups since they end hight school or college but some time they do that for all there life.
I think that segregation is a big problem because there's been people bringing guns, knives, and other stuff. No one is safe anywhere and some techers are racist too and that's messed up too. i don' think that getting more segregation schools in the U.S is better because the chance of meting new people from different countries and with different religions is getting away and we are not having the opportunity to meet them. I think that having a segregation schools would be boring because everyone in the school will know already where you come from and what your culture is, there will be nothing for you to discover.... The segregation is not good to people that goes there. Because they will start fighting with people and people going to think that one person is better than the other. one day they will be going to a battle by the segregation and the integration. They should stop before that happens.
American schools are becoming increasingly segregated, I have readied a article from Internet and is said "Between 1988 and 1998, the number of black pupils in majority white schools decreased from 43.5% to 32.7%." and i really shock when i read this article. i think not a big deal if you white or color, you can't look at one person and said this guy is good or bad, you need you look at the way he active with fiends and family.

Making a metting where you can see the differents cultures, what they do, why the do it, and just giving knowledge to the students about the good of the [differents]. I felt really bad becuase we are all the same, it doesn't matter if we come from a different country or religion or if we speak a different language, we are allhumans and we arethe same. i think it is really bad that the schools are becoming segregated. this way is just showing people that we are different and we shouln't be together and kids will be racists.
I think segregation is not very nice thing in our schools. People becoming more angry, more dangerous to other people. Maybe some of this people doesnt want to be like that, but their group want that person to be like them, make fun of people who didnt even do anything to you. I think we should find a way and stom segregatin in our schools because its not righ, we all should the same, and treat people the same. This way we are not going to have lots of problems with anger.
